dc.description.abstractThe net flow of foreign investment into the Nigerian economy rose by 88 per cent to N1,147.0 million in 2000 from N1,779.1million in 1999. The breakdown of the net flow positions revealed that contributions from companies of United States origin contributed to the bulk of the flow in the review period. The survey showed that the cumulative level of foreign direct investment in the country was N1,57,535.8 million, mainly through the shares of Mining and Quarrying as well as Manufacturing and Processing sub-sectors. The value of total stock of fixed assets in the review period was N297,989.7 million, indicating an increase of 0.2 per cent over the preceding rear. The review further showed that, the cumulative reserves for depreciation of fixed assets rose from N94,013.0 million in 1999 to N95,452.7 million in 2000.en_US
