Abstract: The paper appraised the conduct of monetary policy based on the objective of achieving price stability through targeting of monetary (intermediate) variables and proposes the adoption of inflation targeting framework by the central Bank of Nigeria for the conduct of monetary policy with a mandate to maintain price stability.
